Welcomed with open hands!

In the last post, I discussed a personal revelation where God showed me that He is not far away as we sometimes think. I mentioned that we are assured of God’s presence every time we pray. If you haven’t had a chance to read that blog, I suggest you do to get a better context for this blog.

Sometimes, we need to ask ourselves the question, why do we feel God is not near. Rereading that sentence again, you will notice that I have used the word feel. Feel is different from Fact.

There are a lot of things that can prevent us from realising that we are instantly brought into God’s presence. Sin tends to be the obvious one, others include lack of prayerfulness, lack of self worth etc. Sometimes it might not even be something we know but regardless of how we feel, it does not stop the reality that when we call, God is present.

The reality is that in whatever condition we are, the Lord welcomes us with open hands. This fact is that our Heavenly Father is always present and the parable of the prodigal son powerfully illustrates. When the Father saw his son, he ran towards him. Such was his love for the son that he was not going to let anything get in the way of his joy. I personally believe that the father (some time later) would have chastised the son, because the scriptures state that God disciplines those he loves, but at that moment, sin was not the most important thing, forgiveness was.

Such is God’s love for us that He wants to come running to us when He calls. Regardless of what we might have done, we must have an assurance that God is closer than we think.

Once again, I really pray that God gives us the reality of this love. An assurance that we can come to our Father’s presence at any time and He is there. Of course, there would be times when God will correct and discipline us because He loves us, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that He is always looking out for us.

When we walk in this reality, we will begin to walk and experience the fullness of joy that the Father wants to give us.

So until I appear again in your inbox, stay blessed
