This is powerful and beyond comprehension!

I have heard many sermons on the authority of God and have in the main embraced a lot of what I had heard. However, I read something recently that expanded my knowledge of God’s authority and this made me realise that there is a lot more to the topic. My insight this week is from Zechariah 3:3-5.

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”  And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the Lord stood by’.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you read this scripture? Zechariah had been invited into a conversation or event taking place in heaven. Present were God, Satan, angels and Zechariah.  Up to a certain point, he merely watched the struggle between the accuser and the participant. He watched, listening in on the conversation concerning the high priest’s position. Then Zechariah role changes from being a spectator to a participant.

In verse 5, Zechariah speaks and asks the angel to put a clean turban on the high priests’ head and the angel carried out his instructions. If God had commanded a turban to be put on Joshua’s head, we could all possibly identify with that, but it is actually Zechariah who makes the request and the angel obeys!

This is authority at another level! Can you imagine having the authority to stand in the throne room of God and being able to speak and the angels obey. As a kingdom of priests and kings, I believe that the same privilege has been given to us to operate in that realm.

We are not to relegate this event only to the pages of the Old Testament, but this should become a New Testament reality. When we believe that something is possible, then we start to seek for it and that’s what I want to do with the insight I hope we will do with this revelation.

May God grant us all a greater understanding of our access to the throne, and once we have that understanding, may we be provoked to renewed determination to access it. Remember, He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6)

This is what supernatural living is all about. We should not believe anything less.

Until I appear again in your inbox with more insight from the scriptures, remain blessed and keep on seeking God’s authority.
