The connection between the blood of Jesus and good works

Sometimes you come across a scripture and you are either not sure you have read it before or you might not have paid much attention to it. I am not sure what category today’s scripture comes under – possibly both.
I was researching the benefits of the blood when I stumbled across this scripture. Like many people, I understand the importance of the blood as it applies to forgiveness, redemption, protection, healing and even deliverance but relating it to good works is completely alien to me.
Yes, the blood does relate to good works and the scriptural reference is found in Hebrews 13:20-21
Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you[a] what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Yes, it’s one of those scriptures that you need to read few times to fully comprehend its meaning. So let’s break it down in relation to the blood of Jesus, but before we do, we know that we all have a ‘good work’ that we have been ordained to do.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).
It is through the blood that we can be made complete in every good work. Through the blood, God will be able to work in us to do what is pleasing in His sight. Pleasing God should be the ambition of every believer’s heart.
Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:9-10).
The writer to the Hebrews is simply saying that the blood of Jesus has the power to help us fulfil the good works that God has prepared beforehand for us to do.
Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed and wonder how we can fulfil God’s purpose for our lives. This scripture gives us the answer, it’s through the blood of Jesus. The power is available through the blood.
I do not know what good works God has planned for your life but be assured that you can fulfil them through the blood of Jesus.
So until I appear again in your inbox with more insight from the scriptures, stay blessed
