Lord, restore to me my glory (2)

In the last post, I started to discuss the glory that we have been clothed with and by the end of the post, there were perhaps more questions that the article raised. I will not attempt to prove that I have the answers because I don’t and like most of you, I am on a journey with this. But before I get into today’s post, just a word of caution. The fact that we don’t experience something immediately or even understand things does not make them less real. We need to be careful that our minds do not judge or dismiss what the scriptures declare to be reality.

That said, in the last post, we asked two questions. What would it have been like to live with a garment of glory and what are the benefits of being covered by God’s glory? We will be able to assess ourselves once we have the answers to these questions.

Glory is the attribute of royal dignity (Psalm 21:15; 45:3). To be surrounded by God’s glory is to live in a place where:

  • God’s presence fills the atmosphere. We will be surrounded by His glory and therefore walk within His glory
  • We meet with God face to face
  • We walk in the Spirit and don’t fulfil the desires of the flesh. The enemy cannot see flesh
  • We carry the atmosphere of heaven around us
  • There is perfect beauty and dominion
  • We exercise dominion. Remember that God gave Adam and Eve dominion when they were in a state of glory, not when they were in the flesh
  • We are one with Jesus and the Holy Spirit
  • We communicate Spirit to Spirit with God (1 Corinthians 2:14). We communicate through our spiritual language. Faith is subservient to the Spirit
  • We do only what God does because that’s what we see
  • God’s peace reigns
  • We experience God’s blessing
  • We walk freely in the supernatural realm.

Now, I don’t know about you but reading through the above list seems like a tall order and you almost hear yourself saying, is this really possible? Can I really live like this? Can the atmosphere of heaven be accessible to me like this?

That’s exactly why I started this blog by saying, don’t let your mind dismiss the reality of God. Yes, it’s possible. I don’t live in that realm yet but I am on a journey.

Moses is an example of a man who tasted the glory that surrounded Adam and Eve. The glory of God was reflected in Moses- 2 Corinthians 3:7-8.

Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?

If anything, I hope that this post has triggered a desire in you to say simply as I have: ‘Lord, I am not satisfied with where I am’. There is so much more and I want it all’. Keep on asking and thirsting after the things of God and the scriptures assure us that as we draw near to God, He will draw near to us.

I don’t think there is anything more I can say other than keep on hungering after the kingdom of God. Therefore until I appear again in your inbox with more insight from the scriptures, stay blessed
